Sport and After-School CLUBS
Sport is a real strength at St Mary's.
During lessons, our curriculum teaching is supported by P.E. specialist, Mr McGrath, from St Paul's Academy. This year each class will be allocated one session per week, which will then be followed up with the class teacher. This ensures that the children get access to high quality P.E. coaching and that the teachers are constantly developing their own skills for their professional development. Through our links with St Paul's we regularly enter tournaments there and have been proud of the success achieved by our teams.
St Mary's offers a wide range of ex-curricular activities for children from Year One upwards.
From Year One onwards, all children at St Mary's are invited to participate in a wide range of extra curricular activities. Options range from fitness-based Active Kids to skill and stamina-based team training in a variety of sports. Clubs are offered by both teaching staff and specialist coaches in response to pupil voice. Where possible, children who attend these clubs participate in competitions, representing our school within the borough. We are proud of our sporting achievements and are keen to maintain our reputation of performing to a high standard.
