Clive Efford, our local MP visits St Mary's

Clive Efford visited St Mary’s and spent the morning going around the classes meeting all the children and attending a Junior hymn practice. He invited children to ask questions about his role, how he was elected, his term of office and his working day. The children were intrigued to find out that he could be away from home until midnight, especially if there was something important happening, such as a vote, in Parliament. Some felt it must have been very hard on his family, being away for so long in the day. They asked him about the local area and what extra facilities would make a difference to people. A couple of children even asked Mr Efford if he could do something about resurfacing the playground. I think they are looking at Secondary schools and want the same standard of surface here. Mr Efford promised to write a letter to the Diocese. Fingers crossed!
