Evacuees for the day!

Y6 children, their teachers and helpers, all dressed up as evacuees or people straight from World War 11.  They spent the day at Kent Life near Maidstone, where all the barns and nearby areas resembled scenes from the war years.  Our children arrived at school in the morning very excited.  This was certainly the best way to make a history topic come alive!  The costumes were fantastic and everyone had made such an effort.  Teachers and helpers joined in the fun ensuring their costumes were equally spectacular.  This built on from the work in the Alms Houses as residents there had explained to the children what it was actually like being an evacuee.  Even though the coach arrived late and it was rather cold, the day remained special for Y6.
