Gaelic Football Champions

St Mary’s won another tournament at St Paul’s Academy. After narrowly beating St Peter’s in the semi-final by one point, they faced Our Lady of Grace in the final. After the final whistle both teams were tied. Then after three minutes of extra time, the teams were still level.

They were faced with a penalty shootout! Thankfully Joseph Russell scored the winning penalty giving St Mary’s the title.

All the boys who participated showed excellent sportsmanship and gave their all in each match. A big thank you must go to Mr McGrath who has trained the team at lunchtimes for the past few weeks.

Well done boys!
