Safer Internet Day

Tuesday 9th February was Safer Internet Day. Throughout the week, Miss Dineen has arranged for outside speakers to work with the older children. They have been given so many tips to stay safe. Not all the children knew that they had to be 13 years old before going onto Social Media sites. Some were not aware that once they pushed SEND, their message was out there and it could prove so dangerous. Making sure they did not pass on key pieces of information about themselves was highlighted. Telling someone at school or at home if a person is being unkind about them was another point raised. Always let parents see what you are doing-never go into a room on your own with a computer or ipad. A parent needs to see everything to keep you safe. Children enjoy their computers and the Internet can be great but BE SAFE.
