Samba Concert Year Six
Last night, Year Six showcased their Samba schools in the hall to their parents. They have been practising with Michael Thomas and and Ms Wyld for the Autumn Term and have formed themselves into a Bateria (a Brazilian Samba band).
Children played instruments such as the agogo, the caixa, the tamborin and the repinique. Whilst I'm sure everyone would agree that the sound was loud; the quality of the drumming was excellent. Having the opportunity to play in an ensemble with increasing accuracy, fluency and control, is one of the key objectives from the music National Curriculum.
We are so proud of you all!
