St Mary's wins Rugby Tournament

On Tuesday 6th March St Mary’s travelled to St Paul’s Academy to enter the annual touch rugby tournament.

The team had been training with Mr McGrath over lunchtime for the past few weeks so they were able to move through the group stage comfortably. After winning their semi-final with another good performance they reached the final.

They were pitted against a very strong Our Lady of Grace team who pinned them back twice to make it 2-2 at the final whistle. In sudden death Archie edged the decisive try to give St Mary’s the title.

Special thanks must go to Mr McGrath for all his hard work, Mr Maher from St Paul’s for hosting the tournament and the parents for their support.

Well done to the children who performed fantastically!
