Visiting the Alms Houses

Y6 have been looking at the World Wars and what it must have been like to live during the Second World War. Fortunately, there are some residents in the Alms Houses who can give a first-hand account to our children and Y6 enjoyed listening to all the stories. They found out about the food rationing, how scared they all were when London was bombed, the feeling of being sent away as an evacuee, the hardship of only having a few clothes to wear and the ban on street lights.  It is magnificent to see the generations having so much to discuss and taking a great interest in one another.
